Awakening to Spring

Now that the vernal equinox has passed we are entering into Spring. The daylight hours are increasing, bulbs are emerging into flowers and the trees are starting to blossom.

So much of our own lives are mirrored in natures seasons and cycles. There is a natural rise in energy levels. With Spring comes new beginnings, fresh perspectives and the opportunity to nurture new ideas and desires.

Yoga can help our body and mind awaken from the more introspective slower pace of the Winter months.

Throughout April I have some wonderful sequences to open up the body, shine a little more light into any dark places. Asanas and self massage to help the digestive system giving ourselves a Spring clean. We will incorporate kapalabhati pranayama to energise and bring some warmth to the body and clear the mind for any fresh "seeds" to be planted.

After a Spring themed meditation you will hopefully leave class feeling revitalised and uplifted.
